Welcome to The George Inn — a charming, family-owned pub with rooms in Braunton where everyone’s welcome. Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed drink, a meal out, or a comfortable stay, you’ll find a friendly team, led by Chris & Amy, and a warm atmosphere that’s family friendly and proudly dog friendly.

We’re perfectly placed for exploring North Devon — ideal if you’re walking the South West Coast Path (or cycling the Tarka Trail), and just a short trip from the beaches at Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe, plus the beautiful dunes and wildlife of Braunton Burrows. We prioritise using the finest local ingredients whenever we can — and you can’t get more local than Reeds Butchers right here in Braunton. They supply the incredible steaks and burgers that we grill to perfection. If you’re seated in the bar, you can even enjoy a view of the butchers through the large bay window.
Join us for breakfast from 8am to 12 noon, and our Main Menu is available from 12 noon to 8pm.

Can the hotel store bicycles?
Yes — we can store bicycles. Our cellar provides a secure space for bike storage, and we often accommodate guests exploring the South West Coast Path and nearby routes.
Where are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome in our dog-friendly rooms, and our public spaces are also welcoming to dogs — so your furry friend can relax with you.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
We’re happy to modify dishes where we can, and you’ll find a variety of Gluten-Free and Vegan options on our menus. If you have any allergies, please tell the team when ordering.
Does the hotel have a lift?
Unfortunately, no. Due to the age and size of the property there isn’t an elevator. All guest bedrooms are on the first floor, and there is a handrail along the staircase.
Are towels provided?
Yes — bath and hand towels are provided. We aim to be mindful of the environment and replace towels only when needed, but we’re happy to change them on request.

There are lots of great local beaches nearby. Here are a few handy distances:
